Mayor of Punta Gorda, to update on the Western Michigan University initiative to take the former IMPAC University Campus at W Marion Ave. in the Historic District.
Mrs. Freeland confirmed the "City and the County offered to share cost of parking along Retta Esplanade" and the final decision "in now in the hands of Western Michigan".
The news was welcomed at the office and also received with hope by homeowners of properties around
the Campus that are anxiously waiting for the campus property to restart activites.
The property was sold in 2013 to billionaire Brad Kelley.
